Hi! Our Free 4 All Challenge this week is "scouts" plus today is the first day of the IO Release so I was all about combining for this card! IO now carries stunning paper packs. The paper is thick and semi-glossy! So beautiful. I used single words from a new word stamp set to create something a little different. Fall is our favorite time to camp and my scouting story also took place in the fall.
We went as a family to Huntsville, AL along with our son's scout troop. We dropped the guys off and then we girls (along with friends) headed to a hotel for the night. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the guys had to rejoin us. A terrible storm came up and flooded the scout campsite.
The next day as we drove home our little boy kept saying he didn't want to go home yet. Could we please stay at a hotel? Having grown up missing half a school year many years (whims of my parents), I was a stickler about my kids being in school every day it was open so the decision wasn't an easy one. The day was one of those perfect southern Fall days. The blue sky was sparkling and we decided to give our kids an extra day off even though we were only an hour from home! I have never regretted or forgotten that extra special family time. Memory made. And that is my favorite memory of our son's time in scouts.
If you would like to check this out along with some other cards I have them blogged HERE.

Beautiful card, Angie, and I love your post about your son's scouting days. I sure wish I could play in the wonderful challenge today but can't. UGH Our youngest son was an eagle scout and hubby was an asst. scout leader and then District Commissioner. Fun days gone too soon.
