This week the Teapotters are sending love and condolences to their Alpha Sister Kandi (aka Kemernow) whose husband passed away in May. We were challenged to find a word and use it, interpret it, be inspired by it on this card. My word is ROSES.
Kandi is a master mixed media and vintage card maker. Not the easiest type of card for me. So I went in search of inspiration in Kandi's Gallery and found this beautiful journal cover: Rose Journal by Kemernow at Splitcoaststampers. Then I googled quotes that might work and found this lovely quotation by J. M. Barrie. Seemed like fate. The quote is computer generated using Snowflake and Arial fonts.
For the card, I unevenly stamped the text bg onto white cs and cut with the stitched frame. I probably should have distressed it a bit but decided to stick with white. Stamped the two parts of the flowers and leaves onto the text and just the outline of the flowers onto the base. I wanted a decorative piece so I added the tag behind the quote label. Unfortunately the quote was a bit too big to fit the tag, but I still like the look of the ends on this. Couldn't resist using a butterfly and then added some pearls because it needed something-something. I had intended to add a very thin layer of green around the text layer but forgot. Oh well, best laid plans and all.
It is always difficult and sad to lose someone special and grief will run its own course. But I do hope the cards and love heading to Kandi will provide some brief respite from that grief and bring a bit of joy and light into her life. I hope you are having a great day and remember to remember -- even the difficult memories are precious. TFL

This is fabulous, Debbie, a real tribute to Kandie's style. I love your soft colors and the text peeking through adding that texture layer. Wonderfully done!

This is such a beautiful creation, Debbie. I love the script and roses, and I like the fresh pink and white color combination, no distressing needed IMO. Your intricate label and butterfly are perfect. I'm sure this will bring comfort to Kandi.

This is beautiful! I love that you took inspiration from one of her creations. The faint roses on the printed bg are so pretty. And that is a great quote!
