This week our Featured Stamper, Gayle (aka fostergayle), has given us lots of unique designs and colorful cards to inspire. Unfortunately, I am in need of a masculine sympathy card and I thought this card fit the bill perfectly: Embossed Sympathy on Parchment by fostergaylej at Splitcoaststampers
This is a pretty close CAS as I kept Gayle's colors, embossed white panel, leaves and theme. To create the layer around the label, I dry embossed the die onto the dark green cs and then cut around the embossing. I usually cut the edge from the inside label, but I wanted this label to be larger.
Congratulations Gayle on being selected this week's Featured Stamper. You have a wonderful Gallery and I hope you enjoy the many cards made in your honor this week. TFL.
Just a note: for some reason I could NOT get the green cs to look green. It is very dark but it looks black here and it truly is a beautiful shape of dark green. Sigh.

I think close cases show how much we love the originals! This is a beautiful card that will no doubt touch the heart of the receiver. I thought it was black; glad you mentioned the green - I bet it is even more lovely IRL!

Beautiful! Glad you mentioned it's green. The long stem heart to go with the other die-cuts is a heartfelt detail. The EF is beautiful as your BG.

I needed a masculine sympathy too (did one similar to my inspiration card from yesterday minus the flowers) - seems we are all needing way to many of them lately.
Yours is a great one for a man - a bit of a heart, but no flowers. Good colors too even if you could not get the green they way you liked.
Lovely and thoughful case, Debbie. Many hugz and wishes for a lovely week!

Debbi .... this is awesome! What a lovely design for a sympathy card! Love the gorgeous embossed background, that sweet IO heart stem die cut as well as the deep green leaves. Thanks for sharing your clever technique for creating your green layer behind your sentiment!
