WCW069 - Latte Love
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: bubblestx4

I spent a LOT of time trying to sketch my image - I redid the spoon at least a half dozen times trying to get the perspective right. Still not perfect but then I have to remind myself I am still a beginner at this medium! The actual painting went MUCH faster than the sketching . . . It is difficult for me to keep my rounds round but by the time I added spatters and stains, I think it helps with the overall perspective, too. I Added the SU sentiment with Gathered Twigs ink then die cut my painting with a lace edged rectangle - I think that makes it look like the cup is sitting on a fancy placemat. Mounted on cantaloupe colored card base for a little extra warmth.

It is so well done. You are a perfectionist and you only do things one way....perfect. You really nailed the whole concept of the shadowing. Your die cut does make it look like a place mat. Terrific job with the rich coffee painting. Another great addition to the challenge gallery. Fav'd

I agree! Your cup does look like it's sitting on a placemat! I love this! You did a gorgeous job on the sketching of the cup and spoon! Absolutely beautiful!

I had an incident on one of my cards where I accidentally got the shadow paint on the saucer and couldn't undo it. It's tough when the paper is the white. I ended up fixing it with white gel pen. That's all to say that your roundness came out perfect compared to mine. Everything about this sure looks perfect to me!

Oh my, this does not look like a beginner's project. The cup and saucer look perfect, and even your coffee rings look realistic.

Your watercolor is wonderful and the die you used to cut the panel is perfect to look like a tray cloth.

Fabulous work and I love that delicate die cut edge on the outside edges.

Yes such a good idea with placemat, like at a fancy tearoom.
