This was my first attempt at painting hollyhocks - I did a second one which quickly made me realize the first was better after all - lol - So my memories of real hollyhocks are from over 50 years ago. I do remember that the trumpet is made up of 5 tightly overlapping petals and trying to get that look did not come easy. I struggled with the simplest things like flicking in the darker lines and veins in the leaves
I am way out of my comfort zone today but will survive to try watercoloring again next Wednesday.

Oh, I cannot tell you struggled one bit. I love how you made the opened, closed, and just opening blooms. Beautiful work and I love that you have it framed. See you next week.

Linda, I don't blame you for putting this Beauty in a lovely frame! Wow, Gorgeousness right here! I said it before, and I'll say it again, You were meant to water color free hand style~

Oh goodness these are beautiful....natural flowing and like how you captured the perspective of the blooms is amazing. The bottom one is so perfect with the bell shape and the depth of it . This picture looks wonderful in the frame. You are only missing one thing...you need to sign this original done by you. Glad you came this week, and happy we will see you next week.

Good for you...you have already framed your little masterpiece, Linda. Lovely blooms and I like the gentle sway of the stem....rather than a poker straight version.

Like I said, I wasn’t about to go trying to get the veiny details in. Yours came out great, especially in the big one in the front. Phew! We made it another week!
