Northers lights are so pretty when someone else paints them. I had some trouble getting hard lines. My paper kept drying out. I worked out most of the lines and am pleased with the final result and hope to do another card. Practice will help me get better, right?

If you notice in the wc videos, they always paint quickly. Well, that is not how a beginner paints! We will get better, but we have to learn first. I see you even tackled creating some trees. You are the brave one, Pat. I really like the way your snow turned out and your lights are very colorful including different shades of colors. Bravo~

This technique I found to be a little tricky. It really had to be wet. I like the lighter streaks you created. You really nailed the shadows. Glad you came to play, Pat.

Beautiful card Pat! Watercolor is hard to work with and it does take lots of practice and patience...I'm finding. We are our own worst critics, but good for you for trying and it turned out wonderfully. We'll both keep practicing and encouraging each other.

This is BEAUTIFUL! I think we are ALL TOO HARD on ourselves! I've never seen the Northern Lights either, but I tend to guess that at times, there might be some harder looking lines ??? Your card looks WONDERFUL TO ME! Including your trees & shadows! EACH PERSON has their own TOUCH!!! I DO THINK THIS CAME OUT WONDERFULLY!!!! AND BIG HUGS for your SWEET VISIT!!! ;)<3

I too think you did a great job Pat. The key is keeping it wet and if it starts to dry let it dry completely and rewet the area to keep going, this will not disturb what you have painted. Great colour choices and love your shadows too, very well done.

Pat, I think your lights look awesome and I love how you painted the trees and made wonderful snow shadows. Yes, practice does make perfect and it is fun, too. I think each week everyone is getting more comfortable with watercoloring, learning more, and having more fun. So glad you are joining us.

I know EXACTLY what you're saying, Pat - and here in El Paso my paper dries even FASTER than Grapeland! Even a pro would be hard put to get all those colors in the sky in under a minute - but we learn to work with our environment. Really you did a super job on those sky lights and I absolutely love how you let the colors reflect on the snow below.
