In May of 2005 I found out my sweet Dad was terminal with Prostate cancer. I had planned on an album and trip for their 50th but that would have to change.
I quickly asked friends and family to write letters and such about them as a couple. I only had 2 months!
I was able to get almost finished by the August 1 anniversary but my dad succumbed on October 22nd so it has been incomplete.
They did get to read the letters (they are in a private section) for now. My dad said "you live your whole life hoping that your children will feel like they were raised well and had a happy childhood, and this is all I could hope for to hear"
I used old "out of date" stickers and some new stuff. It has not been completed since August almost 2 years ago, but I hope to soon.
My parent's were best friends and madly in love for 45 years and until my dad died. He was a wonderful father and beloved teacher and many students sang at his funeral. This is my tribute to them and their love, as well as my wonderful father.

Ps sorry for my "book"

What a beautiful page. I was drawn instantly from the gallery because of the beautiful B&W photo.
Your story brought me to tears...what a wonderful thing for you to accomplish for them. And what you quoted him saying...You know you made him so proud.

I'm so glad that you have been able to pick up the album again to finish it. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that you are finding some healing in this project.

You said 'sorry about my 'book'', but you know, sometimes hearing about what went on behind the scenes makes the page all that more attractive. This looks really nice and I'm sure your mom will appreciate it. It helps to deal with grief by remembering the laughter too and all those sweet memories.

thank you for sharing this. This is a beautiful page and this album and especially the love you put into it and the letters that you gathered are incredible.
Thank you all for your kind words and support in the story behind this album. Losing a parent is so very difficult, and I appreciate the time you all took to respond.
I have been a little shy about sharing my love of all things creative as it has been a long time and I miss having all the latest and greatest stuff that comes with being a demonstrator. I miss it at times but I also know that I can still enjoy it by stamping here at home.
