Oh what a FUN Watercolor Wednesday Challenge from Brenda today!
These two guys are my 2nd try on both - I wrecked the mouth on the snowman head at the last minute and I got the arms in the wrong place on the full snowman - but I learned a lot and the 2nd time around was easier. here is the video we watched:
I didn't want to risk putting the 'knitting stitches' on the hat so I left it plain. I also added snow splatter to the full snowman as it seemed kind of flat with no background (but I didn't want to ruin it with a blue wash behind him!!)
So - Thank you Brenda - I'm so happy with how these came out today - I did purchase some 'better' brushes from Dick Blick and I think it helps as I learn which size brush to use for different strokes!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating tomorrow!

Oh, I am glad you did both and they are super duper cute. Love the smiles on these happy guys. Like you, when I boo boo one and have to do another it is always easier. Bet you will enjoy those new brushes. I ordered some paints and brushes from Dick Blick for Christmas. Hubby wrapped them and it is killing me to not be getting to use them. Thanks for playing this week.

Fantastic Julia - they are both so great and too cute. Oops to the mistake, but I did learn from the mistakes I made and understood what I did that messed it up. Good on you for getting new brushes, I personally think brushes make a big difference. Thanks for joining us for WCW.

Two darling cards, Julia. You really did a fantastic job of water coloring these two views of a snowman. Bravo for you for not giving up and persevering until you got the results that you wanted.

Well done, Julia, with doing cards for both versions of todays tutorial. I don't really need any more winter / christmas cards although the hatted version does pique my interest so who knows . . . .these are both personality plus.

So glad to see your cute guys here. You did a great job sketching and painting them. Practice makes perfect...right? Smiled when reading your comment about the backgrounds. I felt the same way. Enjoy those new brushes. Keep playing in the challenges and have fun. We sure enjoy seeing your creations. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I also had to do my snowman twice. It doesn't seem like a pain though when watercoloring. I learn so much and just love the entire process. I love that you made both projects! They turned out beautifully! Such happy faces and beautiful colors!

Great cards, Julia. Glad you are having fun - I am too. I am getting some more brushes too - I paint everything with two old brushes I have and I can see having more would be better. I like your hat with no stitching. Cute cards. Hugz
