LeeAnn is hosting this week with some striking colors that I confess were challenging: Pretty Peacock, Bumble Bee, and Shaded Spruce with a die or punch for dessert.
Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce are fairly close and my first few attempts looked dangerously close to being Green Bay Packer cards. Now, Iâm not much of a pro football fan but as a Minnesotan this is simply not acceptable. No matter how good they may be, Wisconsin is always the biggest rival Minnesota has and you canât see these colors without considering someone a Packer fan.
Finally, as I was a few hours away from leaving on a road trip which was not supposed to include stamping, I resorted to one of my favorite blending techniques, mixing a little white craft ink with dye ink refills and blended the colors onto a background. While they arenât obvious landscape colors I think the strip worked pretty well here as a base for my die cut pines.
I hope you have a chance to join in with us this week. Maybe we will even see some Packer cards!

Oh, Chris! You did make me laugh out loud with your Green Bay Packers dilemma! You came up with the perfect solution, and I love it when you use the white craft ink in creative ways--always such great ideas! This is a lovely CAS card!

This is beautiful Chris. I love that blending and will need to try it with the white craft ink. This card is a wonderful example of how lovely clean and simple design can be!

Chris... I laughed out loud when I read your post, I even read it to my husband, lol! I have to admit, these colors were a challenge for me too! Another color had been selected when it needed to be changed to Bumble Bee! I appreciate the humor in your post and your card is absolutely awesome. This is a fantastic card using some very challenging colors! TFS
