Being the 5th Monday in the month, we have a TLC from Karen today. She always comes up with fun challenges, and you can find this one HERE.
To be honest, I wasn't sure about trying it because grungy-type colouring isn't me...and it appears I gave away the stamp I was going to use. But I'm always happy to try anything once if I have the supplies, and I like how it came out. I probably spritzed it more than I was meant to, but the first stamping didn't give much coloration at all.
I stamped my flower, added Versamark to another block and used Mermaid Markers as I don't have any brush watercolour pens. The leaves were stamped with Mowed Lawn DOX, and then to fill the background I used two stamps from Gorgeous Grunge. The sentiment is also Verve. I swiped and embossed the edges with copper, and added one of my supply of TH Flutter butterflies. Added it to a white base, and that's another October birthday card.

Oh, this turned out wonderfully, Sabrina. Good to know the mermaid markers work. I love your random edge copper embossing to give such interest for your flowers and leaves and the added g. g. stamping.

Sabrina, that flower is soooo pretty. Love the colors. You did a fabulous job on this technique - in fact, I tried it after I saw yours. Hugz

I'm with you on this type of coloring. You know how nervous it makes me. I love the bright fun colors of this and the addition of the Gorgeous Grunge is perfect. Sweet butterfly as the perfect finishing touch!
