Rather than using contact paper for the mask, like Lydia suggested in her video technique, I used the Scan N cut on freezer paper. The Tim Holtz die was originally cut twice for the length on a different card application. I ironed on the freezer paper on the marbled paper and then did the acrylic painting. It was a bit tricky pulling off the mask but nothing tore and the finished product really is flush and smooth. I mounted it on glossy card stock to match the glossy cut sentiment which comes with the Scan N Cut.

Oh, beautiful! The DP that I would like to use with this technique is marbled, now I know it would look good. I love those rich reds and oranges with the hints of turquoise. Phew, I'd have been afraid the freezer paper would tear the surface, I'm so relieved for you that it didn't.

Fabulous result, the marbled butterflies look amazing with the dramatic black! So pleased the freezer paper worked well and didn’t tear the surface when you removed it, that would have been so frustrating!
