This is for Ann's 2nd DTGD challenge. I started out thinking of brick and so I dry embossed a piece of Ruby Red and then added more color by swiping with my ink pad. I decided to make a Philadelphia inspired card to send to my DD who lives there. She just received her licensure as a Family & Child Therapist and got promoted at her job where she does trauma counseling with children. I kept my urban Philly theme by going with a concrete look on my base adding Grunge spatter. I am always picking up rusty crusty pieces when I walk on her neighborhood so I added the smashe'd and rusted bottlecap adding a flower for the beauty and hope she brings to the neighborhood. I picked up the torn dictionary paper from my desk and also used some of the paper to stamp my Congrats. So proud of my girl and the way her family chooses to shine in a very dark place...both she and her DH as well as my son who lives there too, all work for non-profits that reach out to the many needs of kids and families in their area.
