I Stumbled onto a fun section on the Hometalk website on how to build gnome gardens. They were all SO cute! This One made me think of the fantasy mushroom dies I got several years ago and the adorable gnome stamps & dies that came as a gift from Julie aka humma here at SCS.
I started with a reject bg that had been sponged with amber, orange & pink and finished it with watered down DOX in salty ocean applied with a piece of acrylic sheet for a nicely mottled sky. I die cut the fantasy mushroom from scraps of red and tan and sponged a bit of brown shadows on the 'shrooms. I also flicked some color over the foliage with markers. I stamped the gnome and colored with Prismacolor Pencils blended with gamsol. and die cut. Arranged all my piece gluing some directly to the cad base and lifting some with mounting foam. Finished with a fluttering of insects and my sentiment.

rejected bg's are made perfect down in the rabbit hole! This is charming, Linda. And your inspiration reminds me of someone who has actually taken the bowls (found at Goodwill) and painted them for mushrooms in her garden. Those fantasy mushrooms of your's are wonderful..What fun...I'm lost down the hole too...you'll find me over in the veggie garden.
