I took a rubbing from a metal planter with 3 colors of the tinted graphite pencils onto a thin piece of vellum. It was lovely but I decided to try misting it with water. The colors popped, the paper curled, but I had my heat gun close by and all was well. After adding the sentiment, I trimmed it, backed it with white and then black. Added the embossed and fussy cut shoe. You cannot see it in this scan, but all is mounted on a beautifully embossed, satin in places, wedding invitation note which really pairs well with this theme. At first I was going for a southwestern look, but the Muse led me in a different direction! Teapotter's take note: This will be going to my sister in law, Sandy, who just got her last boot off her leg after breaking both her feet. She mentions your cards every time we chat.

I've never seen tinted graphite! The effect of a pencil rubbing is fantastic, brings back many childhood memories. Thanks for letting us know how much Sandy enjoyed her tea-party.

What a pretty background and a great card for your SIL. The graphite rubbing is so interesting and something I would like to try. Congrats to her....I bet she feels like a bird out of a cage.
