Drew some of the buildings from the picture and added a bit of the stormy clouds. The blue was a bleed through from the next page (another lazy day with no page prep).
The SCS BAJ theme for April is Refuge. God is our refuge if we seek Him. This page is done in Romans and reflects chapters 9-11. Israel turns from God but in the end God brings Israel (and us) back to Him (if we listen and seek Him).
Also this is reflective of a recent trip Hubby and I took to New York. We are city people and not used to big cities (we were used to them a long time ago, but we have lost that familiarity). We were there for kind of a scary reason, then Hubby got sick the second day, we almost got ran over and were chewed out seriously by a lady (we deserved it), we got stuck in the rain under a small overhang one night, and we had to leave early to avoid the landfall of a hurricane which would have meant being stuck in the airport or the city several extra days. God was with us though, we found a great urgent care center around the corner and a drug store on the next corner (hubby got well fast), the hotel staff were super helpful, someone came to our rescue in the rain, we were able to get a quick flight out, and the whole trip was super fun despite the little blips. God was with us.

Good sketching, Nancy, and the blue bleed just looks like the sky. Your trip sounds rather harrowing but God saw you through and all was well. Hope your hubby is doing well now with his foot surgery.

This is beautiful! Wow, thanks so much for your story, it's good to know that God was bigger and you found many things to be thankful for during a time of many things going wrong!

This is wonderful, Nancy! I totally hear you on the city thing. We used to be city, but we really dislike the traffic & crime that comes w/ it, so we moved. My experience w/ NYC wasn't terrific, either. Love your BAJ, & I'm so glad it had a happy ending!

Love your hand drawn take on NYC! I'm not much into large cities either though I grew up in one and still live surrounded by them. Glad your trip ended well!

NYC can be quite intimidating and the locals don't look at anyone when they walk nor do they seem to care. They are just always in a hurry to get from point A to point B and will do anything to accomplish it. (I do not like that style nor way of life.) Anyhow, so glad you ended up safe....with God on your side, everything worked out. : ) Of course God is bigger than the world, after all, He created it~
