I made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Anita is our hostess and she has a fabulous challenge for us to "Show Us Your Recipes." This StampinUp set is fairy new to me so I was anxious to use it, and...it reminds me of the cream cheese roses and leaves I make for showers and weddings. Yum! This stamp set was actually not easy to use until I decided to get my Versamark ink out. I had stamped with this set for a good 3 hours with very poor results indeed. But once I "primed" the stamps in versarmark ink, then I got perfect impressions. I found after stamping a few times, that it helped to tap the stamp in versamark ink again. Versamark ink is a waterbased ink so it will not hurt your ink pads at all. Once I got that issue resolved, I just started stamping. This card is going to our very own Pat's (pvilbaum) sister JoAnn who is dealing with a difficult health situation so I wanted this card to look like a blanket or comforter. When I am sick, all I want is "my" blanket. And flowers are always nice too so that is what I was going for here. When the stamping was done, then I took a rectangle die and cut the middle out, and raised it up on foam tape before fitting it back in. I am wishing JoAnn the very best as she travels this difficult journey in life. I am also entering this card into the Alphabet challenge for the letter F for flowers. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Oh Karen, this is absolutely gorgeous! Your flowers are so colorful and cheery. I like the stitching on the background too, it definitely gives it that quilt feeling. What a lovely encouragement card.

I love your card Karen and I would love to own a blanket like this,The stamped flowers are very pretty and I love the stitching flowers, great idea to lift the center by die cutting it!!
Wow, so glad you finally got your stamping to come together. That is so frustrating. Thank you for sharing your tip! I was thinking it reminded me of a quilt before I even read your description. It looks so comforting and like you put some real TLC into this.

I'm sorry you had to persevere so much with the stamps... hopefully now they are primed you'll have an easier time next time. My first thought was that it was like a beautiful crisp, fresh cotton quilt, so I think you certainly achieved your goal. Your cream cheese roses and leaves sound lovely.

So beautiful, Karen! JoAnn will love this so much. She plants colorful hanging baskets of flowers every summer. Hope she feels up to it this year. If not she will have beautiful cards like yours to look at instead. Thank you so much for making a card for her.
