I had to do another for yesterday's teapot challenge and Monday's TLC. I love this technique with neutral colors, I think it reminds me of sepia photographs from the past.
The book my card is based on is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Published in 1963, it was one of my children's favorites. It's all about Max, who gets so rambunctious that his mother sends him to his room. His room starts to change into this place where the Wild Things live. He becomes their King, by not being afraid of them, but he gets lonely and decides he wants to go home. Supper is waiting for him when he gets there. I must like books where kids have adventures but always want to go home. I have had this Wild Thing stamp forever, first time I've used it. It is an actual drawing of one of the Wild Things in the book. I forgot to use green but I could fix that.

Oh, oh - super for the TLC and I just LOVE your stamp. It's funny, we had several Maurice Sendak books but not that one, which I've never read. I think we had that tiny little miniature box set, I do remember the Chicken Soup with Rice book. You always have the best sentiments to add to your cards, always something appropriate.

I absolutely love this! I would not have been able to create a card based on this wonderful story, and you have done it brilliantly here. I am impressed! ~Karen.

I haven’t read this adventure book but it does sound like a wonderful book for children, Jean! Your illusional embossed technique is well done, again, a fun card for the lucky recipient.
