Can you tell I'm passionate about this? Here is card #2.
My Dad went to art school after high school, but seeing that he would be drafted, he enlisted in 1942. Because of the GI Bill, he was able to go to college and get an art education degree. This card features one of his school projects. I'm not sure what year this was done but he graduated in 1950 so it would have been before then. He didn't sign or date it so I cut out his signature from another piece (all on copy paper, don't worry, I didn't mess with the original) and then parked a little photo of me (on the left) and Lyn Harter, my best friend and neighbor. We were about 3 (both born in 1952), I would say and we still are in touch. Her Dad is still with us and I've visited him.
I was always so proud of my Dad's artistic abilities. I'm guessing this house never existed, except in his mind and if he did it in the 40's, it's pretty cutting edge. We had no houses like this in town until the 50's. He was pretty modest about his art and I wish he would have spoken of it more.

This is wonderful Jean. Your dad was very talented. I love that you used his image on this card. The highlight is that adorable picture of you and your friend...so sweet!

I would certainly like to visit. Or even live there...I like all those windows and the raised flower beds by the door. You certainly have a treasure-trove of old memorabilia, Jean. The photo of you and your friend makes it extra special.

Oh, my goodness...I just knew you’d put a pick of you out front! You have created such a treasure with this house from your dad and his signature. Love it, love, love it! And the house...how coolio it would have been to call this one home. Fav’d it before I even finished reading your commentary.
