Can you tell I'm passionate about this? Here is card #2.
My Dad went to art school after high school, but seeing that he would be drafted, he enlisted in 1942. Because of the GI Bill, he was able to go to college and get an art education degree. This card features one of his school projects. I'm not sure what year this was done but he graduated in 1950 so it would have been before then. He didn't sign or date it so I cut out his signature from another piece (all on copy paper, don't worry, I didn't mess with the original) and then parked a little photo of me (on the left) and Lyn Harter, my best friend and neighbor. We were about 3 (both born in 1952), I would say and we still are in touch. Her Dad is still with us and I've visited him.
I was always so proud of my Dad's artistic abilities. I'm guessing this house never existed, except in his mind and if he did it in the 40's, it's pretty cutting edge. We had no houses like this in town until the 50's. He was pretty modest about his art and I wish he would have spoken of it more.

This is incredible!! You did a wonderful job on this card. I like the vintage kids you put in front of this modern house --- it really speaks!! Love it!

This is just stunning Jean. I am so impressed this is something your dad created, and like you said, for the era he created it in this is super cutting edge. It is a shame that art was not something appreciated more at that time, and especially for men. I love the added photos of you and your good friend. How sweet. This is definitely frame worthy and thanks for sharing your dad's gorgeous art work with us too! ~Karen.

This is a treasure, Jean! Adding the picture of your and your friend was the best idea of all. I'm sure your dad was as proud of you as you are of him!
