I went for the flat roof because sadly, our 110' cedar tree died and it was cut down a few days ago. What a spectacle: man with a saw and a crane operator trusting each other in the dance. I stamped the door first, embossed it and then masked it. Stamped the tree stamp 3 times to widen the "house". Used a stamp positioner for the roof and sentiment. Filled in the forest floor with grass and mushrooms. Fussy cut the teensy owl. All was colored with Distress markers. Distressed and roughened up the edges. FUN to make.

the description of how you built this how is awesome, I could totally "see" it. I love that this looks like a little fairy hideaway too
I keep seeing those "fairy" house bits and pieces at craft warehouse and passing them up because, but they do catch my attention when I wander and your card makes me smile and remember that.

Your little owl house is just adorable and so is the teeny owl. I'm sorry to hear about your cedar tree dying. I'm bet you were sad to see it go.

This is so pretty! I like your "roof" and pretty red door! Funny thing. My daughter was out and about during our bad weather tonight. I was kind of freaked out about it but pretended not to be. Turns out our driveway was the most dangerous part of her night! A cedar tree fell across our drive. She called us and I went out and drove around the tree in the little space we have next to the drive but I am not sure my husband's car is going to get out of the drive in the morning!
