I created this card for Send a Smile 4 Kids. I wanted to use the owl punch from Stampin' Up, and figured this design would be perfect!
I cut a panel of brown cardstock to 4x5.25", and die cut the large heart. I ran the panel through my die cutting machine again with the "Woodgrain" embossing folder.
I printed my greeting, from "Owl Sentiments" onto a strip of cream cardstock, and die cut both ends with the "Crescent Tag Toppers" die to create a label shape. I poked a hole in each end, and inserted heart brads. I had to cut off part of one prong on each brad, to keep it from sticking out from behind my label. I could have just adhered it to my embossed panel and inserted the brads through both layers, but I made the "mistake" of adhering my panel to the card base before I thought of that!
I punched the owls out of light brown & dark brown cardstocks, and gave them blue eyes and lighter tan/cream bellies. I glued them to a pink cardstock piece, positioning them so they would stick out into the heart window. I adhered the pink to an A2 panel of the same brown cardstock as the embossed piece, that I'd adhered to my white card base. Then I adhered my top panel to the card with foam tape, and glued on my greeting label.
I die cut the pink hearts with the "Mini Outline Hearts" dies, and glued them to my panels, tucking a couple under the heart window. I love how this card came out, with the love bird owls & the punny greeting!

Ooh, what a sweetheart of a card! Love the darling owls and how you've made them ogling at each other. Love the wonderfully rich woodgrain embossing folder (great depth), and those hearts are perfect! Sweetheart of a card, my friend! Hugs and love! xoxo
