Goodness, two very thought provoking challenges this week in the MIX and the Featured Stamper:cnsteele.
Marilyn asked us to Leaf me alone to make art (MIX302) with some great techniques to accomplish mixed media. In the end, I went with embossing one very special leaf using UTEE.
Ardyth selected Nicole (cnsteele) as our FS614. I took my time walking through Nicoles' galley. She has many, many creative cards. And I saved a few to ponder in the future. It was this one Stamped Leaf by cnsteele that caught my eye. I loved Nicole's use of the French Script bg, the one big leaf, and the lovely sentiment in a square shape. The vellum was also nice. And so, I kept the single leaf, a square quote. I changed the style to CAS, a real preserved leaf, and a quote.
Do you like to experiment when you are creating? I enjoyed watching the technique videos, but I wanted to see if I can preserve this leaf with a whooping big dose of UTEE. I suspect it will crumble...will report back. Thanks for stopping by.
And Nicole, you are a talented stamper...enjoy this week in your honor!

I can't get enough of looking at that leaf and the wonderful surface you have encased it with! Looks amazing and reminds me of the early frosts melting when the sun hits them. I've always loved that quote ...I like the neutral background you've placed it on. Great tribute to the FS and wonderful card!

I'll stay tuned....wow Susan this is magic. I sure hope it survives, if not it will make one heck of a mosaic. If it does work, you have just created a very cool broach! Love this to bits my friend.

Susan, this is amazing trying to preserve a leaf. You've chosen the perfect sentiment for this too. Wow, we'd sure like an update on this one! This is phenomenal!

Susan, you captured nature's beauty and the beauty of Emily Bronte's beautiful poetic words all on this amazing card, along with combining these two incredible challenges. Well done, my sweet friend. It was a special treat being your neighrbor in the gallery.

That is incredibly creative to use UTEE on a real leaf! It looks like its glazed ceramic, a piece of homemade pottery. I have never seen anyone do this to a real leaf before and I LOVE the look! Thank you for the very kind and flattering comments, too - I'm honored you were inspired by one of my cards.

Holy cow! This is absolutely amazing. Who'd a thot! I sure how your leaf remains in tack. Perfect case of our FS too. Beautiful card. Love that sentiment also.

I think it would be a hand deliver one for sure Susan, but I would be interested in knowing that it does not crumble that leaf.
This is gorgeous color me Impressed!
