This care was made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #382 with the optional challenge to use die cuts: https://TryStampinOnTuesday.blogspot.com

The sketch required three diamond-like elements arranged in a diamond shape. For this, I use the solid leaf and veined leaf dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Die set. I die cut the orange, green and yellow foil sheets with the solid die, then the orange, green and yellow cardstock with the veined die. These were glued together with Tombow.

The main panel was created using Stampin' Up Crumb Cake cardstock inside a woodgrain embossing folder which I ran through my Big Shot. TIP: To prevent cracking of the cardstock, I sandwiched some thin plastic on top of the cardstock when I place it in the folder. The embossed panel came out nice and intact with deep embossing.

The two long banners were created by running just the pointy tips through my Big Shot on the green and yellow paper (I used the two smallest dies in the SU "Banners" die set). I then took the partially cut banners to my paper trimmer, and extended the side cuts as long as I needed them. For the yellow banner, the width difference between it and and green banner was to large, so using my trimmer, I cut about 1/8" of each side, being careful to keep the finished "tails" the same size. These were glued together, then both glued on top of the woodgrain embossed panel.

The three diecut leaves were then glued to the woodgrain panel using Tombow.

The sentiment from SU "Happy Scenes" was stamped by first inking it up with Versamark, then tapping it on the SU Early Espresso ink pad. I then stamped the sentiment on SU Old Olive cardstock. Clear embossing powder was sprinkled over the saying, then heat set to give it a glossy look. I had tried it with just plain ink, but the sentiment got lost in all the shininess of the leaves. The sentiment was punched out with the SU "Modern Label" punch, then attached to the card front using adhesive foam strips.

The completed main panel was glued to the SU Cajun Craze card base.

I like the look the foil gives the leaves (they aren't quite so brilliant in person, but the studio lights make them look like the are on fire!!!

I am rating this at a difficulty level of "2.5" out of a possible "5" because of the care needed to be taken with the deep embossing folder, and the careful alignment of the leaf diecuts. If you are an experienced card crafter, it for sure is a difficulty of only "2".
