Hi friends, it's time for a new Color Challenge! Jeanne is hosting this week and she has chosen Poppy Parade, Lemon Lime Twist and Garden Green for her colors. As we did last week, the dessert option is again "Christmas in July", so we can continue to build our stash of holiday cards!
I was running short on time this week so I pulled out one of the cute Suzy's Paintable Prints from Simon Says Stamp and used mainly Distress Inks similar to the challenge colors to watercolor the print. With the SCS Color Challenge team using Stampin' Up Neutral colors, which now include Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot and Night of Navy, I used Merry Merlot and a Distress Ink similar to Night of Navy as part of the colors used to watercolor my panel.
With the playful nature of the print, I kept the watercoloring very loose, not worrying a lot if I went outside the lines a bit. When the panel was dry, I traced all the images and sentiment with a black gel pen, added some highlights with a white gel pen and splattered the panel with gouache, assembling the card after everything dried.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll be able to join the Color Challenge this week!
Stef

This is so cute but there is a lot of coloring going on here, I hope you don't make 100's of Christmas cards like I do. I love the gold twine you've wrapped your card in, gold just screams Christmas. Nicely done my friend.
