I got two cards made this morning for the VSN, and that's it from me although there are still several challenges I would have loved to have time for. I have a commissioned card to make and we're out all day tomorrow.
For this one for Melody's challenge, I gessoed my dictionary page and embossed it with the Mosaic Rose folder. Then I used a distress crayon to go over all the raised areas (Bronze crayon). I diluted some Brushos (moss green, rose red) with water and used them to colour the rose, edged the page with the bronze crayon and stuck it to a black base.
Stamped the sentiment, embossed with gold and die-cut. Sponged with antique linen so it matched the background better, spritzed with water. Added the pearls. Spent 15 minutes trying to arrange the gold cording, and with the clock ticking away had to call it a day here.

This is so gorgeous! I thought the rose was die cut rather than embossed. It looks so delicate. How wonderful to be able to use something of your mom's. Thanks for playing along in my challenge.

Love the gold and pink combo, and the fabulous mixed-media look of this card! Just gorgeous!
