My youngest son became engaged July 3 while on a national parks trip out west. He proposed to his gf Hannah, in Glacier National Park. Hannah asked me to design something for her to ask her friends to stand up for her in their wedding. They have decided on an autumn wedding, but not a date yet. This is the prototype I came up with and she loves it. I added the cardinal because she recently lost her dad to cancer in March, unknowing that she also had a cardinal tattoo as a remembrance of her grandmother.
I stamped the birch tree in black and the leaf clusters in various distress inks, on the ground as well. I used a white gel pen to color in the bark of the tree. Stamped the fence using DOX vintage photo and peeled paint and used a watercolor brush to pull the color out into the image, supplementing regular distress ink color to the image. When it was dry, I used the distress inks to again stamp and sharpen the image. I don't even know if the DOX shows, probably didn't need to use it. I added the charms using twine, the heart also has the word love on reverse side, and the initial H as this will be Hannah's memento. The cardinal was made a long time ago using alcohol inks on glossy paper. The fence and the cardinal were popped up with foam tape. This is just a card front panel for now.
