Just as well I made this before work, I got home late and too tired to do anything except lie down and nap - and now I have to get Monday's TLC sampled and a sudden urgent request for a special wedding card.
Anyway - I got up early before work and got all chalky. I have loads of chalk pastels from when I worked in art supply import and distribution, because they break so easily that boxes often ended up in the "damaged" corner. So I masked my border, scraped little piles of colour onto my masking piece and then smooshed them up with my fingers - babywipe required between each colour. Repeated on the bottom, remembering to do the colours in reverse order. Chalk pastels needing fixative is a lesson I learned aged about ten and have never forgotten, so that came next. Then I stamped the sentiment and scored double score lines along the edges of the white strip, and punched the edges.
My extra mediums come from the butterflies - the blue and purple ones are from a galaxy background with watercolours and white acrylic: the green one is a cling-wrap background with Brushos, the yellow one is Brusho and the orangey-red ones I haven't a clue. Probably Brusho acrylic mists and acrylic shimmer. Popped it up on foam and added some Stickles for sparkle.

Love this fun rainbow! What a clever way to add in the mixed media! I never think to punch shapes out of my various backgrounds but I'm always so drawn to it when others do.

I love your added scallop border and bitty butterflies to this lovely rainbow of masked pastels! Your technique and added interest really make this a stepped up card! Very pretty!
