Default MIX282 Masked Pastels

Challenge Title: Masked Pastels
Hostess: understandblue
Keyword: MIX282
VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE

Happy Mix-Ability day! I took a FUN class in Santa Fe with my sister that was basically a day of fingerpainting. Our instructor LOVES pastels, and we did all sorts of fun things with them, including masking with paper, so I adapted her methods to cards. I used oil pastels, but you try whatever you have! Chalks, gelatos - whatever works!

Here's the basic idea:

Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HERE for a list of supplies you could choose from.

Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX282) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!

Thanks for the early post, Lydia - much appreciated. I had time to finish a card before work; by the time I get home I can add it to a base without fear of smudging the Stickles.

I love this technique that Lydia shared. My tulips were done with cray pas and the thanks was cut out of alcohol inks. Here's my card. A Tulip Thanks by sgc - at Splitcoaststampers
