Here's one of my samples for this week's EOINA (Everything Old is New Again) TLC challenge, which you can find HERE with a link to the crayon resist tutorial.
The brayer and I are not friends and it took a lot of persistence, but in the end I think I ended up with four usable cards out of six attempts. mostly on glossy card with regular distress I also tried DOX, and plain card. I used the wax resist to keep the windows and the doors in the Bethlehem scene white, and also around the star. I added tiny extra stars using the die from Hometown Greetings.
Plan A was to matt these with gold and layer them on black - but I turned out to be right out of black card and actually I like the lighter look the white card base gives them, so it was a lucky lack.
The one I made a note of was brayered with DOX: vintage photo, peacock feathers, faded jeans, broken china. I used the same colours in regular distress for other attempts.

Beautiful cards!! Haha, I had a brayer once.....it hated me so much that I let it sit on the shelf so long that it dry-rotted and fell apart!! lol!!!! So happy that you persevered because your cards came out great!!

These Christmas cards with the scene of Bethlehem done using today's technique are beautiful. The pure white adds a "sparkle" to the star and the openings in the buildings.
