I had originally been planning to use
Crayon Resist as the Everything Old is New Again challenge back in April, but was struggling to come up with a sample that I was happy to upload - and in the end I gave up trying and went with the Hinged Card for that month's challenge.
But...Lydia's VSN challenge about removing colour from our focal images caused me to use one of the pieces I had stamped while trying to produce a sample I was happy with, and it was one of my favourite VSN cards. So I decided to go ahead and feature Crayon Resist after all.
This first featured as
TLC09 (wow!!) way back in 2005 , and then again as
TLC117 in May 2007.
Beate's tutorial and beautiful example can be found here:
CRAYON RESIST.
Please choose the Technique Spotlight gallery when you are uploading your Crayon Resist creations - choose Technique Spotlight from the first dropdown menu and Crayon Resist from the second. This is much appreciated as it helps build a wonderful resource to provide inspiration. Don't you love going into a library and being able to head straight to the shelf you're interested in? I like it in the library and I like it in the galleries too!

TLC693 Crayon Resist gallery
I made two samples. The one with the flower and the bunny takes inspiration directly from Lydia's "refrain from colour" VSN challenge. Sure, I could have masked the flower for a similar effect, but covering it with a crayon is quicker than stamping and fussy-cutting a mask ;-).
For the second one, I used the crayon both to help keep the doors and windows in the Bethlehem silhouette white, and to add some rays around the star.

Remember to use the keyword
TLC693 (and you can also use TLC117)when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread .
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.

3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
