This shows the card closed with its belly-band in place. The card FRONT #2 with the belly-band is removed and the card INSIDE showing the shutter technique used with the verse are posted separately.
This card is for my oldest son's birthday. As a video game enthusiast with capital letters, his card is all about the "Warframe" video game! The game takes place on Earth and outer space in the future and players represent members of the Tenno, descendants of an ancient and antique, mystical civilization.
I made a watercolor galaxy night sky with re-inkers and spritzed it with watered-down, metallic sapphire acrylic paint, giving it an almost silvery blue sheen. I used the shutter technique inside for the birthday verse area. My card is larger an A2 size, so I had to find my own measurements for the shutter and lens parts. I used a Starburst Circle die for my aperture to add more interest than the typically plain circle.
I am submitting my card to two SCS challenges:
#1. Alphabet Challenge, Round 9 (all about colors) - Letter A - 2/21/18...for Amaranth, a flower that is a raspberry rose color, which I used in all my layers throughout the card. I am meeting the Double Challenge: antique with the ancient, antique and magical Tenno civilization, Earth's guardians and saviors.
#2. USEIT2018 - ongoing challenge...my old materials, long unused, Folk Art Metallic Sapphire acrylic paint with water added to make a spritzer, plus my Starburst Framelit dies.
Ingredients: Papers: Stampin' Up cs: Night of Navy, Rose Red; Recollections Seaside Cardstock Pack (Lt. blue); Ranger Watercolor Paper. Warframe Colored Digital pictures. Stampin' Up Inks: Night of Navy, Marine Mist, Rose Red. Folk Art Acrylic Paint watered down for spritzing. Dies: Stampin' Up Starburst Framelits; Spellbinders Circles LG and Circles SM. Recollections Opaque Marker: Snow. Score-Buddy creasing tool. Computer created verse. Size: 5" x 6-1/8".
Your galaxy sky looks amazing! So cool that you know all about the game! I know a little bit about one of Seth's games, I think it's Fallout. I have watched him play. It's kind of cool but you know much more than I do!

Okay, you may be the coolest Mom ever to go to the lengths you did to make this card!! Doing the galaxy background was fantastic in and of itself, but all the reasearch you did and actual game image downloads you included are fantastic, and make an incredible, one of a kind birthday card for your very lucky son!
I think I sense a fellow SciFi fan...😀

What an incredible card this is for your son! The bg is stunning and really showcases this fabulous image you have on the front of the belly band. I know your son loved this card, and I am impressed with all the research you put into this fabulous card because it shows! ~Karen.
