Our family is going through a big transition now as both of my parents have critical health issues. I am spending most of my time in the hospital or the ER these days and driving 2 hours each way to where my parents live. Needless to say, my creativity is gone. This morning, I went into my craft room and just sat down kind of bracing for when the phone rings. While sitting in my chair, a very strange thought ran through my head. I wonder how much pain a caterpillar goes through when it is turning into a butterfly? The process of transformation is never any easy one so I think that is what was on my mind when I had that thought. So, I decided to play with this Tim Holtz butterfly stamp that has never seen ink. I have no idea why I chose the colors I did because these are very unusual colors for me to play with, but when I was done coloring the butterfly, I really liked it. I decided to stencil the stitched rectangle piece with a Tim Holtz stencil and pistachio pudding ink and that was ok, but a little flat. I found this striped scalloped die in my stash and also this pierced circle die, but the card still needed something. When I pulled in the watermelon wonder cs, then the card came together. Then my brain went ding, ding, ding - I can use this card for this week's alphabet challenge for the letter B for Bold, Beautiful, Butterfly. What a relief. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.

Gasp! Jaw just hit the floor, my dear! Your butterfly could not be more realistic if you tried another time, Karen! It looks so velvety and satiny too at the same time...your coloring is Amazing! So glad you put the mambo piece in there to break things up. What a treat for me to behold today~

Beautiful butterfly! Love your birthday card design. Everything came together so nicely! The paper therapy probably helped you more than you know. It always helps me. I'm glad you took time to be creative. Your card is something to behold and I enjoyed seeing it today. TFS

Wow the colors on the butterfly are fabulous! I like the pp in the bg too and the scalloped die. Sorry to hear about your family challenges - my family went through that a few years back. Sending strength and prayers your way.
