I made this card for this week's Letter M Alphabet challenge. The M's in this card are for Magenta and the markers I used to color these blooms in with. I stamped, colored and sponged this older Stampendous flower image in, then I did not know what to do with it so it ended up in my "someday" pile. I pulled it out one day and decided it should be cut as an oval instead of the square it stamps as. As soon as I cut it, I hated it! It was ruined (I can be dramatic at times) so back on the "someday" pile it went. Eventually, I pulled this out and decided I was going to pull this into a card. I went through all of my dsp and no go. Then I went shopping for dsp in our local town and nothing. So I drove 45 miles north of where I live, and I did buy some dsp. I got the dsp home and I hated it. I was frustrated because I was tired of looking at this flower image. A few days later I got up and just knew what to do. I embossed a piece of vanilla cs then sponged it very lightly with antique linen ink. Then I took an older and smaller bg Anna Griffin stamp I have and stamped it 6 times onto the larger piece of vanilla and created a bg that goes with the embossed piece. Added a piece of lace and put the flower image on top. Done! Whew! Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

This is gorgeous, Karen! Your backstory about how this card was created reminded me of ... me! All your effort paid off and your card is magnificent. The roses are marvelous and the color is fabulous! The oval shape is perfect for the image. Love the background with the writing and the different fonts/styles. The card base is terrific!! Well done for Letter M. Love your card. TFS

You sound pretty tuckered out, Karen! Some cards just take longer to create than others. Good thing we're not getting paid by the hour, eh.....These magenta flowers are colored so Beautifully they appear like velvet! I love your soft touch to the embossed panel showing all the details and your bottom panel stamped several times is really pretty too! In the end, you have a lovely flowery card with a pretty vintage bg, my friend~

Karen this is stunning! It is so gorgeous, no one would ever guess the creative pains it caused you. The end result, however, is outstanding. I am glad you persisted. Well done, my friend.

I love these magenta colored blooms. I learn so much from you. I don't think I would have thought to make an oval out of a square stamp, but I am so glad you did. Love your half embossed top bg. and then duplicating the theme with a stamp for the lower part. This is a wonderful stamp with the printed words and you have done this stamp justice with your coloring and reshaping into an oval image.
The touch of lace works beautifully as well. Great "M" card, Karen!

Karen, your story is so familiar!! LOL So glad you saved the gorgeous floral oval piece and created a beautiful card with it! The magenta flowers are colored so beautifully, and I love the vintage look of the card. The use of the Antique Linen ink worked magic on this wonderful piece of art!! I love it!! Hugs!

Karen, you cracked me up! How like a true crafter to drive 45 miles to find the perfect DSP for an unloved image! That being said, this is GORGEOUS! Well done, my friend.
