 | | Another week with no MIX challenge, or at least not in time for me to be able to play along, and I'm out for the day tomorrow. So I made my own...I've been playing around with DOX inks on photo paper. You do a wrinkle free distress, and at the end you can wipe all the oxidation off and leave vibrant colours. Well, it took me a while finding a photo paper which worked, and now that I have, I need to remember that while there's no brand name to indicate the back, only one side works. The Sydney scene is done on the successful panel - only I smudged the first stamping and had to cut it in half, leaving a much narrower strip. I added a little more stamping and popped it up on chipboard, then distressed the top edge. The little white heart is stamped with acrylic paint.
The base must have been the back (or the front, I really don't know!) of the photo paper which DIDN'T work. It stayed vibrant, didn't set, didn't oxidise. So I gave it a good spray with fixative and when that was dry I was able to work on it. So I stamped some texture stamps, stamping them off once, the brushes, and a Gorgeous Grunge splat of copper acrylic which is as close as I could get to the colours of the cityscape panel. And I spattered it with more white acrylic before adding it to a card base and finishing it off with the silver heart clip and a few sprinkles of Stickles dripping down from the brush. Fairy dust it isn't! |
