I had the die cut "happy birthday" left over from another card, so I decided to go ahead & make this card. I cut a panel from bristol paper to A2 size, and stamped & heat embossed the lanterns from "The Party" along the top portion. I also heat embossed the streamers coming from the bottom of each lantern. After I inked the panel with Antique Linen, to jive better with the colors in the die cut words, I colored the lanterns & streamers with Tombow markers and a water brush. When that had dried, I pierced a hole at the top of each lantern, and used my T-square ruler to make a mark at the top of the panel directly above each hole. I threaded some metallic floss through each hole, strung it up to the mark on the front of the panel, and wrapped it around the top edge before taping the ends to the back of the panel. I ran my greeting through my sticker maker to apply adhesive to the back of each word. I adhered the "birthday" centered at the bottom of the panel, and then snugged the "happy" in above it. Finally, I mounted my card front onto a white card base.

What a beauty! I love the effect you achieved with your markers. The shading is lovely! And what fun the die-cut greeting is, with all those happy colors! Thanks for playing along in my Falliday Fest challenge!
