I have attempted...and failed so many challenges in the past few weeks. When this happens, I generally resort to a technique or images that make me happy, hence this Mermaid card.
Colouring with my Prismacolour pencils on copy paper is my happy place and seriously, who wouldn't love to be mermaid for a day.
All the colouring is with pencils and Zest-It pencil blend, except for a few blue highlights in the sea using a B04 Tahitian blue Copic and BG18 Teal Blue in her hair and wings.
After colouring the image, I very gently wiped my Walnut Stain distress ink sponge over the entire image (just using the residual ink on the sponge) and more aggressively around the edges.
I have mentioned Zest-It in a few uploads recently. I should have been adding the words "pencil blend". I didn't realise that Zest-It had so many products. The stuff I use is less that $10 a pot, refill bottle about the same. Both these products should last for years and years. Generally it is sold in Art supply stores, not craft stores.
Thank you for looking and have a happy weekend.
