Here's my sample for this week's WTUI challenge, which you will be able to find HERE.
This has already gone postal, as when I gave DH a choice of several cards to send to my favourite BIL in Sydney for his birthday, this is the one he picked. As a one-layer card, it was great for international mailing.
Stamped the image on watercolour paper, masked, and used assorted distress inks to sponge in the background. I added Crackle Accents to the compass rose. Then I reverse-masked the image, and stamped and embossed Timeless Textures in white, then sponged with brown inks. Finished it off by adding some faux brads punched from metallic gold card.

I love all the details in your card. The crackle on the compass rose gives it an antique feel. That is such a unique lighthouse image and the bg for the frame is marvelous. Love your card, Sabrina!!

I loved reading the backstory to your challenge Sabrina. Being an island nation, lighthouses are everywhere here so this will be extra special for your BIL in Sydney. Everything about your card is extra special my friend. I especially love the framed border.

This is gorgeous, Sabrina! I was surprised to read that this is a one layer card as the frame and texture make it look like more! Your BIL will love this!

Gorgeous card, Sabrina. This lighthouse image from ODBD has always been one of my favorites. I have many lighthouses in my collection of stamps as well. It will be fun to pull them out today and decide on how many lighthouse cards I might make today. They work so well for encouragement cards, and I have need of some this week.

Now that is a fantastic lighthouse! Definitely looks strong and mighty!!
You did a fabulous job! Reminds me of a lighthouse in Bodega Bay that a couple purchased and converted it to a B & B.
