 | | This week's Ways to Use It challenge was to get out an old stamp that I love and use it. The Wild Rose stamp set came out in 2006/07 and I've had the set since about that time. I loved it when I saw it but I don't use it much because it is wood mounted and two step which means I have to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to layer up - or guess and that usually doesn't go very well. Of course, I'm not always the best with the stamp-a-ma-jig either! As a matter of fact, I stamped this up and had finished it when I decided I wanted to darken the big rose. I didn't get it lined up perfectly so what you see here is the opposite side of the paper or attempt #2.
I used an old, but loved, ink color too. Sadly, I think my Orchid Opulence is drying up. I stamped the big rose, masked it, and stamped the leaves. Then I stamped the greenery for the base of the buds and the buds. I heat embossed the sentiment. After that, I realized that there were some smudges of ink on the card so I splattered it with watered down Orchid Opulence and Garden Green to, hopefully, mask the smudges. I sponged the edge with Garden Green and then layered it with a very thin layer of black, adhering it all to an Orchid Opulence base. I also added some Nuvo drops and Wink of Stella here and there.
I still really love this set. I need to get brave and un-mount my wood mount stamps!
Thanks for looking. |
