 | | I made this card to send to the first responders in the Houston, TX, area who are helping victims of Hurricane Harvey there. Sandy Allnock posted a list of addresses on her blog for several police & fire stations there, so people can send encouragement cards. For the background, I stamped a piece of ivory cardstock with the "Wood Plank Background" and Wet Cement ink. After trying a few different things for the flowers, I ended up scribbling color on scraps of bristol paper with Tombow markers, spritzing liberally with water, and drying with my heat tool. Then I stamped one of the flowers & one of the leaves from "Bold Blooms" in Versamark, & heat embossed with Liquid Platinum. I made 5 of each, & cut those with the coordinating dies. I stamped my greeting from "Up the Happy" onto bristol, die cut it with a "Stitched Circles" die, and created an ombre look by coloring the bottom 1/4 of the circle with a pink marker, then used my water brush to blend the color out to the top. I adhered that to my background panel, and glued my flowers & leaves in place. Finally, I mounted the card front to a white A2 card base. |
