My sample for this week's Ways to Use It challenge, Let's Go Faux. Sabrina is this week's hostess and wants to see what we can do with faux finishes! I chose the Faux Mother of Pearl technique. Hope you'll play along.
It's also the last DTGD card I've got
time to make!! This is for Joanne's DTGD challenge. TFL

OUTSTANDING! Love your M-of-P butterflies framed in that love gold glitzy frame. Your bg is fabulous...looks like faux cloisonne in bold stamped images or a fabulous patterned dp. Beautiful blue butterfly and perky gold ribbon and bow with its sentiment tag are wonderful additions to an already goregous card!

Gorgeous Faux Mother of Pearl panel, Carla! The gold die cut behind it makes it looks like an elegant brooch. The pretty DP with the striking blue butterfly and gold ribbon set off the Mother of Pearl perfectly!

Carla I am blown away at how beautiful this card turned out. Fantastic technique and the colors you used are so eye catching. Love the way the Mother of Pearl turned out. I have to try this technique as well. It is so pretty.

Having tried this technique a couple of times I know just how hard it is to capture the effect on camera, and how much more lovely it must be in real life. With all that rich gold and the black DP, it puts me in mind if old lacquered furniture - which so often had mother-of-pearl inlay.
