With all these challenges this week being on the Christmas in July themes, I have a few more Christmas cards in my box. I have been weaving some of my many. many scrap strips of white into some mats lately trying to use them. Using one as the background for this card, I stamped my poinsettia onto a part of the last sheet I have of a very old paper (Mauve Mist), embossed it and the leaves, then cut them out. I popped up the center of the flower which I stamped and cut in the same way and where I added paint dots for the flower stamens. I also added a little shading with a "begonia" Copic marker to the flower petals When I got out the olive paper I found a piece of mulberry paper in the folder and decided to use it as a mat for my flower. I started to add some sequins and beads but decided to just keep this very simple.

Your weaving looks great as a background! Beautiful flower and mulberry paper! I have lots of mulberry paper, maybe I should pull mine out! Always loved the texture on a card!

Brilliant use of your white off cut strips! I need to remember this. And how fun to see the mulberry paper. This is my favorite poinsettia stamp image and the card you've made with it is gorgeous!

Beautiful and interesting elements on this card, Pat. The weave, and especially the feathery thin paper right behind your poinsettia. A very nice touch.
