About 95% of the homes in El Paso are Stucco (a few brick homes for variety but NO wood) so all the neighborhoods here tend to be done in earthtones! This was the perfect challenge because I needed a card for a housewarming party this weekend!!
I laid in my cloudy sky using the SU cloud stencil and chalks applied with a cotton ball. Then die cut the neighborhood twice from several scraps of beige parchment and added bits of color & shadows with watercolor. I layered these for a little more stability & dimension and adhered with Elmers Flex glue.

Love it when a challenge meshes so perfectly with a card you need to make. I like the look of your neighbourhood, Linda - it reminds me of where we were in southern France last summer. They have ochre quarries there - plenty of earth tones just like yours.

Linda, this card is so beautiful and looks so realistic! I love the little stucco houses against the beautiful sky. The card is so perfect to welcome someone into a new neighborhood!
