Hello friends,
My internet (well everyone's internet around where I live) went out yesterday afternoon and did not get back on-line until well after I went to bed last night!! Yikes, I have no idea what happened!
I decided to do this steampunk mermaid on an Oxide bg that I created using Perfect Pearls in the water instead on plain water.
I do have green in her tail and fins and some of the bg so I did get a bit of Irish on!! I am supposedly about 1/4 Irish. The Irish came over and a lot of them became mountain men, trappers, etc. My great great married a Cherokee Princess. That is on my grandfather's side...he was raised on a reservation...he REALLY looked Indian except for the bright red hair!! My grandmother's story is much the same only without the princess. They were all a bunch of red heads! I did not get that but my grandson has the reddest hair ever!
Anyway, in Susie's words, I digress!
I stamped my mermaid on my background for the fine lines, not to color. Stamped her on white and colored. Cut her out (this is where having it stamped on the bg helps for those lines too skinny to cut out). Added Nuvo bubbles (which also reacted to the Oxide Inks and turned colors. Added the gears to go with the gears in her tail and added Glossy Accents and glitter to the ball in her had. Also used a bit of gold leaf pen here and there.
Thanks for looking!

Such a perfect little mermaid and again so nicely coloured. I just love her red hair. Fascinating to read your ancestry background - I guess we all have a little "Irish" in us somewhere back in time.

Wow, Robin, This is AMAZING. What I would give you have hair that gorgeous color...unfortunately, my hair is more of a mousy brown. Your colors are just stunning...so vibrant, and I love the addition of the gears.

Oh, wow!! She is spectacular, Robin!! You did an outstanding job coloring her and creating that remarkable background! Her gear outfit and the ones you added are fantastic. The way the Nuvo reacted with the Oxide inks is magical. Lovely artwork, Robin. I wouldn't want to run into her with those long nails. LOL
