Create with Connie & Mary Color Challenge #430: http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/ that required the use of Stampin' Up Perfect Plum, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie colors.
You would not believe how hard it is to sponge 3 circles on a card!!! I thought it would be a breeze, but it took me five tries! I wanted each of the circles to fade out to the lower left as if they were lit from below. My problem was that I was using an acetate window template that had three circles cut out that I had used last week for a project made with a Bokeh background. The circles were too close to the edge of the template, so I kept sponging off the acetate onto my white panel. Grrrrr! Finally on the fifth try I got my SU Window Sheet pack out and cut a 5"x5" square which I then used a 1 7/8" circle die to cut my circle in the middle with PLENTY of acetate around it to prevent going over the edge. Believe me, it's worth the extra effort to get it right!
The flowers were stamped with SU Perfect Plum, as well as the birthday sentiment from the SU Circle of Spring set.
The little butterflies were die cut using SU's Beautiful Wings Embosslits. I bowed up their wings and attached them with Mini Glue Dots.
I was inspired by a card on Pinterest (https://goo.gl/Ur3XVq) which had no credits, and was done with another stamp brand. Her sympathy card was all in purples, but I think the additional splash of orange and green really makes the card pop to send for a birthday.
The card wasn't really hard to make,,, once I got beyond my hard-headed insistence that I had to use an acetate circle template I already had on hand :-D
