To meet the challenge's optional "add dimension" requirement I started out by heat embossing the two sizes of stars in the SU Bright & Beautiful stamp set on Whisper White Thick Cardstock to give rigidity to the stack of stars I would be creating.
The three stars were cut out with the SU Stars Framelits Dies - one from the largest star (which I hand trimmed to remove the white border left by the die), then two of the middle size star. Again, I trimmed the white border off one of the middle size stars, and the third I used a one size down die to cut a smaller star for the stack.
The stack of three stars was assembled using Foam Adhesive strips between the top two layers of stars. Each star tip was then embellished with rhinestones, and a larger rhinestone added to the center of the top star in the sandwich.
The Bright & Beautiful sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, which was glued to the glitter cardstock.
The glitter panel was then wrapped with silver elastic jewelry cord and then glued to the Island Indigo card base. Finally, the 3D star stack was glued to a Night of Navy star cut using the same star die as the largest heat embossed star (but without any trimming) to give the star stack further "shadowing". The star stack was mounted to the card base using Foam Adhesive Strips.
While the card wasn't difficult to make, it does take time due to the heat embossing and assembly of the star stack. I think it looks very festive, and perfect for a favorite relative this Christmas!
