I found an appropriate pirate map online and resized it and printed it. I tore the edges and sponged them. I glued it to the skull and crossbones layer and took tiny bits of dimensional "leftovers" to lift some of the edges a bit. I layered this on red card stock and then on a midnight blue card base. I added this great iron-on I found in the clearance bin at JoAnnes (50 cents!) using dimensionals. Added the cute toy compass with a large glue dot. Hand wrote the sentiment, cut it out and sponged the edges; put a dimensional under the "Arr" and "ea" of treasure and curved up the middle and edges of the sentiment.
On the inside I sponged the edges of card stock matching the sentiment color and wrote "Well ye' found it! Happy Birthday!" [I will use this to give birthday money to my nephew].

Arrr, this is X-cellent for Letter X. Love the theme. What a cute pirate! Love all your attention to detail - tearing the edges of the map & sponging, making a banner for the pirate sentiment and the compass accent. The paper is perfect with the cross bones. Matey, I think this works for the double challenge, too. Love the sentiment inside and out. Goes great for birthday $$ treasure! Yoho, yoho a pirate card for X. TFS
