Idea (time for quality time with kids this summer):
You must try this one weekend if you have neighbors with children, or if you have your own! Invite at least 5 kids over and put out one of those fold out tables. Cover it with a large piece of watercolor paper. Then give the kids some acrylic paint (distressed paint is the best if you're willing to use up about 10 bottles in 1 day - come-on it's worth it - LOL). Make sure to choose complementary colors though, and do not forget to include a bit of black and a bit of brown. Dress the kids in plastic aprons, and ask them to gently drip a variety of paint colors randomly on the watercolor paper sections closest to them. Once the paper is semi-covered (try to leave some white space), have everyone spritz their sections with water and glimmer mist (2/3 water to 1/3 glimmer mist) to watch the colors blend together! Wait for it to dry while you eat your barbeque, and then cut it up for FABULOUS backgrounds for mixed media and/or abstract cards!
I bet you can't wait to create something abstract of your own with us on the Inspiration Challenge this week!
Big Swishy Hugs,
