This is one of my cards for the May Christmas card challenge. Our theme this month is Santa, with a local twist.
The PB image was stamped in VF Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. I cut a circle from masking paper, attached it, and began sponging. And sponging. And sponging. I think there are about a dozen colors of Distress ink on this! When I was finally satisfied with it, I removed the mask, stamped the sleigh with VF Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. I added a bit of Antique Linen to the moon with a watercolor brush to give it some warmth. The image was misted with Pssst Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle. it looks like fine snow falling IRL.
I used Photoshop to create the sentiment and printed it and the inside message on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of Petallics Bear Grass cs. I cut the card base and attached the image, which is matted on purple Shimmer cs.
As always, thanks for looking!

OMG JodyLynn, this has the most amazing glow to it. All that sponging paid off. There are a lot of scene cards on SCS and Pinterest, but you took the technique to new heights. I keep looking at this...the gradation of color from the bottom to the top of the card are just stunning. I love your Texas sentiment. Pinned and faved.

Man oh man, that Texas sunset shore looks purty, Jody!! Love the layers upon layers of inks you blended so beautifully to get this wonderful effect!! Santa never saw such a purty sky in all his trips out on Christmas eve!!

Jody, I wish I could sponge as beautifully and seamlessly as you! I had to check your description that you hadn't used a brayer. This Christmas card is SPECTACULAR!!! That sky is a big part of it, but your added elements of brush and Santa flying away give a neat twist to denote your area of the country.
