Hello and welcome back! It's Monday and time to post my weekly sample for the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Our hostess Maura has chosen the lovely combination of Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay, with embossing as "dessert".
I had a left over frame in Bermuda Bay from another project, had my plan for the card all decided, then when I went to put it together, I didn't like it. Arrgghh! I tried a couple of floral two step stamps using Elegant Eggplant, but it's such a dark purple that even stamping off the ink for the interior (petals versus the outline), it still wasn't light enough. So I looked through all my stamps and finally came upon the flower from Blooming with Kindness and voila, the card came together! After stamping the flower in Elegant Eggplant, I used a Blender pen to pull ink into the petals from the stamped image, just lightly brushing it forward so as not to pill the paper, then used Old Olive ink to color the stem.
