It's all relative - ya know? If you have spent any time in my gallery, you know that I LOVE 4.25" square cards. Just the right size canvas for me - particularly with CAS designs, as I start getting twitchy if I have too much flat white space. But all through January, I was focused on 3.75" cards so that I could use up some 4" square envelopes I had in my stash. Enter Valentine's Day and the need to make cards for my niece and nephew. Oh my goodness! Do you know how big 4.25" is when you've been all focused on 3.75" for a month? HUGE difference, I tell you...HUGE! For my niece's card. a tone on tone BG stamp did the trick and I was able to go with 4.25. On THIS card - oh my gosh no. All that matting? I don't think so! So out came the paper cutter and another 3.75" card was made and the stamper's world is again in balance. LOL!
So, now, about the card...
Stamped my image on PTI cardstock and cut out with my new stitched square dies. Colored with Copic markers. Used a Copic multi-liner to enlarge the kitty's eyes just a bit and added some dots onto the hearts. I also added some brush lines on my exposed brush, though you can't see that very well in the picture. Finally, drew in the line to better ground my image. Matted with 3 layers of black cardstock so that my image panel would have some, but not a lot, of dimension.
Cut 3.75" square panel from Bazzill Dazzling Diamonds cardstock and adhered to card base. Centered my focal panel on top.
Completed my card by adding some Wink of Stella to my heart and the kitty's fur. Used glossy accents on the kitty's nose and the paint brush. Finally, added some star sequins to add a little more festivity to the card.
Love how it all came out -- hope you do, too! TFL!
